We’re launching shorts! Pulling some of the best moments from CreativeMornings talks around the world, we want to share with you some of the greatest takeaways from our speakers.
This one features Nick Campell from CreativeMornings/Chicago, on not being the best one in the room. Guaranteed to be one of the best two minutes of your day.
“I left Digital Kitchen in 2009 with the idea that I wasn’t going to take any client work for a year. If it all blew up in my face, I knew that I could either crawl back to DK and ask for my job back, or, if they wouldn’t have me, maybe somebody else in the city, but the risk at that point was just trying it. It was a year.”
Nick Campbell spoke at the very first CreativeMornings/Chicago of 2013. In this video, Nick talks about how he transitioned from 80% to 92% happy by quitting his job to do what he loves.
Huge hat tip to Chicago’s photography and film team: Erick De La Rosa, Steve Delahoyde, Kyle McKenna, & Chris Gallevo.
…And with the end of one day, comes the dawn of another.
We’d like to formally introduce you to the new folks behind CreativeMornings/Chicago:
Meet Kim Knoll and Kyle Eertmoed. They’re a husband and wife team who work side by side out of creative studio Knoed. They make some pretty excellent work, so we thought we’d share some of that as well! Click through to see what they do.

Nick Campbell will be the speaker for this Friday’s CreativeMornings/Chicago. Nick worked three years at Digital Kitchen as an animator and a photographer where he made TV commercials and title sequences. You can see more of his work at his portfolio site, CreamyOrange.
Lately, he has been speaking to students and creatives about how to be creative and get paid to do what you love—perfect for this month’s global happiness theme!
Above, this custom Animated Alphabet was made for the 2008 Webby Awards in New York. Custom animations were made for each letter in the typeface. This approach allowed him and his team to quickly create over fifty unique fully animated title cards to introduce the nominees and winners of each category.
